Folk/Prog band Pagan Harvest take inspiration from the English landscape, that sense of place that can be found in Shakespeare’s forests and moors, Wordsworth’s mountains and streams, and even on Westminster Bridge.

On 1st February 2018 they released their second album. Entitled 'Sacred River' it is a bold artistic statement encompassing the myths, legends and magic of London and the River Thames.

In this episode Pagan Harvest continue to discuss their second album Sacred River. Since the first album their cinematic music has evolved into something darker and unsettling. Jon Bickley, Lawrence Reed & Steve Daymond discuss the process of composition and the influences at play.

The featured song from the album on this podcast is 'Chant'

The album is available to download from https://paganharvest.bandcamp.com/album/sacred-river

Guitarist Bob Templeman and singer Annette Burrows dropped into the Invisible Folk Club for a session of songs and conversation with host Jon Bickley. Bob's intricate guitar is the perfect foil for Annette's exquisite vocals as they perform a carefully chosen mix of quality songs. The set balances material from the traditional folk and jazz singer canons with songs you might not expect to hear in this context. No clues I'm afraid, just listen. I guarantee a few eyebrows will be raised along the way.

When not performing Bob & Annette are leading lights at Chesham Folk Club. Annette also runs sessions at The Half Moon, Wilstone (Hertfordshire) on the third Sunday evening of every month. Everybody is welcome, just turn up and join in with the songs and tunes. Until fairly recently Bob was involved in the running of Chesham Folk Club. In the podcast he gives us an interesting insight to the processes involved in selecting and booking artists.

This is the first episode of three.

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Grae J Wall and violinist Andy Keeble dropped into the Invisible Folk Club to trade songs and stories with host Jon Bickley.

Grae and Andy deliver their passionate brand of country, blues and folk where the songs get to the heart of the matter. Yes there is the sadness of murder ballads and bar room melancholy, but celebration, humour, passion, a smile and a wink are never far away. Andy is a long time collaborator whose skillful and intuitive violin playing is a key factor in creating the atmosphere.

As well as performing solo Grae fronts the Trailer Trash Orchestra, a raucous 6 piece where country-noir meets trash rock ‘n’ roll meets punk meets The Pogues! Then there is Los Chicos Muertos, a slimmed down ensemble for smaller venues. Songs of love and loss, the plight of the downtrodden, anti-fascist skiffle, tales from the road, tales from the backroom bar and all points in between. If these guys come to your town make sure you are there.

The excellent Los Chicos Muertos album 'Quinze Petites Morts' is available from https://graejwall.bandcamp.com/album/quinze-petites-morts
