Stout Brothers are an acoustic duo comprising Stewart Murdoch (guitar/ukelele) and Neil Stanton (violin/mandolin).

Scotsman Stewart came relatively late to music discovering the art of guitar well beyond the first flush of youth. In the course of learning his chosen instruments (ukelele added along the way) song writing seemed to come naturally, most of the songs on this session are Stewart's compositions.

Neil had been playing electric guitar in various bands for many years as well as being proficient on mandolin and banjo. Through the encouragement of a musician friend he became involved in violin restoration and rebuild. It was almost inevitable that Neil would learn to play the instrument, we're glad he did!

The guys first met at a low key folk event and a mutual love of acoustic rootsy music lead to the Stout Brothers. They are gradually raising their profile in south east England and who knows where beyond. Honesty and authenticity abound.
