Doug Jenner is an Australian fiddle singer resident in England for the last 20 years. He started his musical career in Sydney with bush bands driven by a passion for Aussie folk music. Since moving to the UK he has continued to champion the music of his roots. Australian writer and bush poet Henry Lawson has been a profound influence. Bush songs depict the life, character and scenery of the Australian bush and Lawson's words feature significantly in this podcast. Doug, in partnership with musician and song collector Martyn Wyndham-Read, has developed and performed 'Voice of a New Nation' a reworked version of Chris Kempster’s acclaimed show about Henry Lawson's life and works.

Doug has been a major driving force behind the Kimpton Folk Festival. Now in its 4th year and with Doug as its Folk Events Chairman this excellent one day festival has gone from strength to strength. This year it takes place on Saturday 6th June with an impressive line-up of established names along with stars of the future.
