Melodeon player Elye Cuthbertson is a young man who is going places. At the time of this recording he was 14 having first picked up a melodeon aged 9 at an EFDSS workshop. Elye performs either as a soloist or with a variety of other musicians.
In 2018 he was a finalist in the prestigious New Roots
competition for young musicians under the age of 25. He is a member
of the
National Youth Folk Ensemble with whom he will be playing at
the prestigious Sidmouth Folk Festival (Sunday 4th August 2019). He
has taken part in performance and compositional workshops run by
award winning English folk musicians such as Andy Cutting and Sam
Sweeney.
